VINTAGE SIZING
VINTAGE CLOTHING:
All measurements are in inches, and usually taken while garment is lying flat. In rare cases, it’s difficult to find the flat measurements because of an unusual cut so the size may be approximate.
Some garments may be pinned on the dress form to show proper fit.
BUST - measured across the chest from bottom of armpit to armpit then doubled.
WAIST - measured across the smallest part of the waist then doubled.
HIPS - measured approx 7 inches below the waist then doubled.
SLEEVES - measured from the seam at the top of the shoulder to the end of the cuff.
LENGTH - tops, dresses and coats are measured from the highest point of the shoulder (next to the neckline, before the collar starts if it has one), down to the bottom hem.
LENGTH - pants and skirts are measured from the top to the bottom hem.
INSEAM - pants and shorts are measured from the crotch down to the hem.
RISE - pants are measured from the crotch up to the waist.
SHOULDERS - measured straight across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, except when the garment has no shoulders seams. Then, it is the general width of the shoulders given as an approximate.

VINTAGE SHOES:
All measurements are in inches.
INSIDE LENGTH- This is taken on the inside of the shoe from the toe to the heel. The style of shoe will affect the results greatly. A pointy shoe will measure much longer than a square toe shoe of the same size. Please compare measurements to a similar style of shoe that fits you well.
INSOLE WIDTH - Measured inside from the widest part of insole. This is at the ball of the foot. Again, please compare measurements to a similar style of shoe that fits you well.

Please note that vintage items are pre-worn and not new, unless otherwise specified.
We do our best to make sure all of our items are accurately described. Item descriptions will note any flaws such as holes, tears or stains. They will be rated excellent, very good, or good depending on their quality.
EXCELLENT – No noticeable flaws, like new.
VERY GOOD – May have minor wear, but in overall good condition.
GOOD – Some noticeable flaws, but still wearable.
